About Munkie & Me

Munkie is a stuffed hot water bottle holder originating from the shelves of Marks & Spencer in Blackpool, England. He’s been a source of lots of joy & happiness since he’s come into my life. How can you not love his permanent smirk & his pear-shaped body w/ the X as his belly button. His cute little Obama ears & extremely long & floppy arms & legs. He’s such a wonderful companion, but don’t tell hubby that.

As for me, I work full-time in the corporate world. It may not be my passion, but it pays my bills. I got married last year to a wonderful man, who at times frustrate the heck out of me, but that’s to be expected. ;-D I have plenty of hobbies to keep me preoccupied. Those are the things that I find fascinating & encourages me to continue learning & wondering about the world. They give me immense satisfaction & keeps me sane.

I dabble in just about any arts & crafts project I can get my grubby little hands on, but I must admit, it’s an expensive hobby. I love trying out new foods. I’m what people may call a foodie, but I’m in no way snobby. I love to bake because it’s such a satisfying way to show people I care (only if the goodies turn out yummy). I’m an amateur cook, but that doesn’t keep me from trying. For all the eating I do (& I do that often!), I also work out quite often. It’s an addiction of mine, but a healthy one. Working out has been such a central part of my life, it has become a lifelong habit. I’ve played volleyball (JV, HS, intramural, league) for 20 years before I injured myself. Then, I started Crossfit in June of 2011 & have never looked back. I also enjoy riding my bike, tennis, yoga, pilates, running, indoor rockclimbing & anything else that piques my interest. I love to try new things. I have way too many hobbies & not enough time in the day to do it all!

This blog is for me to document things in my life, but hopefully, this will be a blog for my future readers to possibly learn something new and/or learn something about themselves in the process. It’s a work in progress because we are all a work in progress.

WARNING: I make no apologies for what I say. I may be blunt, I may sound mean at times, but I will always be honest. I will not sugar coat anything (unless it’s a cupcake). That is not my personality. If I offend anyone, you have the right to never read this blog again & I will be okay with that.
